The bar graph shows the production of dates in tones for the world’s top 10 countries in date production in 2001. The 10 featured countries are mainly from the Gulf and North Africa.
Egypt was the biggest country in date production. The date production in Egypt was over million tonnes. Followed by Iran which was the second and produce 0.9 million tonnes. After Iran came the UAE and Saudi Arabia with equal tonnes of production it was more than 700, 000 tonnes. Pakistan and Iraq supplied about 630,000 tonnes while the rest of the countries were less productive. Algeria’s production was approximately about 400,000 tonnes and Oman was about a quarter of a million. 0.2 Million tonnes were supplied by Sudan and Libya each, it was considered as a low production.
In conclusion, the most counties of date production were Egypt and Iran and the least countries were Libya and Sudan.
